P&I Club – Hull & Machinery
In the naval field our office works for various P&I Clubs and with the main Hull & Machinery Underwriters.
We can give assistance for damages to hull and engines, for the estimate of damage and repair cost, making the necessary agreements with interested parts for the cost of repairs and works to be carried out in order to safeguard our Principals’ interests. Thanks to the experience in this field we can carry out controls on the “state and conditions” of vessels.
Checking all the parts of the vessel and analyzing the safety factors and skill of the Board and checking the necessary certificates.
Where necessary and for particular loads, our staff can check the adequacy of the vessel’s structures and the watertightness of the hatchways, with ultrasonic tests.
We can make controls at the beginning and ending of chartering, as well as control of bunkers when requested.
Our office is in contact with a very good Chemical Lab for the control of the quality of bunker supplied to the vessel and any other kind of chemical ascertainment. We can make draft survey by means of apposite programs with a very low index of fault.
Thank to the knowledge of the English language our Surveyors can assist the board also during landing and loading of any kind of cargo, as well as for a check of safe stowing and lashing of the cargo loaded.
We can agree and prepare with the board the best kind of lashing, estimating the necessary quantity of material.
Our office makes various pre-loading controls on cargo to be loaded on board, checking for existing damages and helping the board and shipping agents to issue the necessary documents, with the opportune “reservations” to safeguard the shipowners , P&I and/or cargo insurers.
